Scud Missile launches WBF championship fight
The fight comes after Scud Missile Promotions brought the lower tier WBF International title, which saw Onkarabile Mothibedi defeating Tshephang Babui for the vacant title in Botswana two years ago. Mothibedi would later lose the title to the current reigning champion, Moabi Ngaka last year. The international fight card scheduled for Gaborone is a partnership between Scud Missile
Promotions, state broadcaster Botswana Television and the Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sports and Culture.
The championship’s main event is a 12 round fight, pitting the local sensation, Steven Bagwasi Jr (8 wins 1 loss 1 draw) against Said Chino (18 fights 9 losses 1 draw) of Tanzania. The fight is sanctioned by the World Boxing Federation (WBF). In what is expected to be a thrilling sports affair, the fight will be broadcast live on Botswana Television at the University of Botswana Indoor sports arena. The fight organisers, Scud Missile Promotions have organised a stacked undercard that features some of the best pugilists in the country including both veterans and debutants. The six fights in the undercard feature other local pugilists, including Tshephang Babui, Tefo Letshikgwane, Lentswe Zwinila, Rennei Senete, Boifang Kenaope and Moreki Maiketso
