When a South African Sangoma was in town

-

We heard there was some Sangoma or traditional doctor from South Africa who would be in Botswana for some one on one consultations with those who needed her help. Heelang, after we learnt of the things that woman can do, we were shocked so many Batswana wanted her help. The queue to her consultation actually was so long she has even confessed she could not do consultations with everyone.

And 99.9 percent of the people who lined up there were women! Bathong! Gatwe people wanted the sangoma’s help in bringing back long lost lovers. Ke gore gatwe even if a man is married elsewhere but still wanted by her ex-lover, with the sangoma’s charms, the poor man will find himself running back to the forgotten woman. Gatwe the sangoma’s most sold potion was the one called Leba Nna Fela, to be used on lovers so that they would not have any interest in any other person except the one administering the potion. Gatwe one could also buy a charm that can break up a relationship in a case where one is bitter and wants to see certain people separated. Side chicks, we hear, had ample variety to choose from on the charms to ensure they are loved more than bo Permament and married. Consultation fee of P500 was reportedly charged even before one could buy some recommended potions for up to P2500, with the cheapest said to be P300. We sit here and wonder now, how many malwapa are beginning to experience some strain and how many men are beginning to see flames and flying hearts when they look at their colleagues at work.
