Lydia wins the Hope Trashion Show

- BY IRENE SHONE

Lydia Oile better known as Preacher Bae aka Nchadinyana continues to soar up higher as a general artist. She is well known as a solo artiste and also a member of the Culture Spears group, but she is also a fashion designer. She expressed gratitude this past weekend at the Hope Pageants Trashion show at Cresta President, when she was announced the best fashion designer of the night. Preacher Bae told Vibe that she sat down and carefully put her designs together. “I participated to showcase my work to the people and to also compete against other designers, so being awarded the winner really humbled me.”

“It really means a lot to me, having won this fashion show as I still wish to be recognised as an international designer.” Director of Hope Trashion Show, Tlhatlogo Madiba, says that they are excited about this year’s Trashion show, as it is a unique one which has exposed local designers’ potential. “Normally, we use contestants to design their own trash outfits, but this time around we called for the fashion designers to take part.” A total of six fashion designers actually participated in this annual trashion show, for the first time ever. Madiba said the trashion show is meant to protect the planet and promote the culture of recycling.
