The Midweek Sun

Rdent followers of former president Khama are taking to social media to express their disappointment at his purported failure to come out of the Umhlanga Reed Dance Ceremony in eSwatini with nothing to show for his attendance.

-

AMany last week said the celebrated senior bachelor was on to something massive with his podium presence at the ceremony where traditionally and on an annual basis, the Swazi King chooses a virgin wife to add to the already numerous beauties under his matrimonial roof. With Khama seen next to the Swazi King, many expressed hope that maybe the King had said to him: Monna, a ko o eme fa le wena o itlhophele.

The high hopes were actually fueled by memories of that SADC Summit in eSwatini where Khama had in his speech expressed admiration and envy for King Mswati in relation to the reed dance, even asking that all summits be held in that country during the week of Umhlanga. He even in his side note of the speech promised he would introduce a similar ceremony in Botswana. Now Khama’s followers say they are shocked that when they were expecting to hear something about a potential wedding ceremony, they instead hear of his threats to quit the Botswana Patriotic Front. But here at the Magatwe Crew Enclave, we remain hopeful.

Lo fela pelo ka bonako. People cant just expect Kgosikgolo to be so quick in sharing news on the proceeds of his visit to King Mswati’s land. Katleng pele kwa!
