OF QUEEN ELIZABETH’S SECRET LETTER THAT CAN’T BE OPENED

The trending story right now is that in November 1986, the Queen wrote a secret letter to the people of Sydney, Australia, which remains sealed and can only be opened and read to the residents in 2085.

The letter is addressed to the Lord Mayor of Sydney with this instruction: “On a suitable day to be selected by you in the year 2085AD, would you please open this letter and convey to the citizens of Sydney my message to them.” This means that any child born this year, will be 63 years old when the future Mayor of Sydney finally opens the letter. The contents of the letter remain unknown even to her personal staff. The letter is stored in a time capsule and is kept in a secret vault inside the Queen Victoria building in the city’s CBD. It was written to celebrate restoration of the building which was built in 1898 to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. The building was nearly demolished in 1950 but has since been restored. Queen Victoria, the original MmaMosadinyana, is Queen Elizabeth’s great grandmother.
