Ping Pong duo score upskill funding
Botswana Table Tennis Association (BTTA) athletes, Kaone Moroke and Phetso Jack have been awarded funding through the Zebra Athletes Funding program for the financial year 2022/2023.
The two table tennis players will embark on a journey to sharpen their skills to be able to compete within the international standards and produce desired results for the association as well as the country at large, according to the press statement from the association.
The two players are based in India and according to BTTA Assistant Public Relations Officer, Arthur Kgaswe, the sponsorship will go a long way in ensuring that the players attend several international events.
“It’s a big benefit for us to have our players attending training camps and being able to attend international tournaments without going through complications.”
The Zebra Athletes Fund supports projects by NSAs or other sporting groups, groups of individuals, or individuals that seek to enhance provision of facilities, equipment and sports opportunities for grassroots and youth sports, girls and women sports, marginalized communities, people with disability and athletes with disability.
The project will have a significant impact on the target population, and has strong prospects for successful implementation. The project over the years has been technically sound in conception and presentation, it has been financially viable over a long period of time as well.
