- BY IRENE SHONE

Owner of Sparkle-It Detergent Manufacture Botswana, operating under Good Wood Trading, Keabetswe Goleba Gagoiponwe tells Sun Business that she wishes to close the gap within the cleaning industry through her products. Her

company was established in 2016, but started to venture into manufacturing in 2020 she says. Her goal was to produce cleaning detergents of high quality and also reduce the import bill on cleaning detergents. She went for training at Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) incubators in Francistown in 2020. She shares that, due to Covid-19, she couldn’t start operating the same year after training. “I got funded by CEDA in November 2021 and immediately started with production in March 2022,” she shares. She manufacturers all cleaning detergents, both for homes and industrial sites. She manufactures different and various cleaning detergents and gels. So far, her products can be purchased from Serowe at quick stop and the product is expected to be displayed at Square Mart and Payless. She is content about the feedback that she receives from her suppliers. “People love my product and they keep coming back,” she says. Her target audience is government, private sector and the public in general, she says. She currently has two employees, and intends on growing her brand and eventually employ more people in the future. Gagoiponwe says that being determined keeps her going. She says, just like any other business, she has experienced some challenges before but she never gave up as her mission is to diversify the cleaning industry.
