Glitz Annual Awards of BW Celebs’ inaugural event is expected to be held this Saturday at GICC.

The awards aim at embracing local celebrities, to be known for the potential they have. Coordinator at Glitz Awards Dickson Gothaang told Vibe that there are 35 categories to compete for, on these awards. He said that they expect a night of glitz and glam on that night where three renowned local Master of Ceremonies would cheer the audience.

Kgeotshepile Motseonageng, better known as Berry Heart, said that these awards are important and mean a lot to the arts industry.

She has been nominated in under four categories: Best female social media influencer, best female designer, fashion trend-setter and best fashionable couple. Motseonageng applaud the awards saying that they help the arts industry to grow and thereby allowing local celebrities to also work harder and portray themselves in a positive manner. Being nominated for the female-owned fashion house gives her a sense of belonging and reminds her to keep on going, she said. She told Vibe that she feels honoured to be nominated for these awards as it shows that her presence is felt.

“I believe these nominations are a way of recognizing my hardwork over the past years in the fashion industry and for my influential impact within the industry,” she said.

She said that she wishes to win the Best influential award on social media award as she believes it speaks directly to her about what she is passionate about. She won a similar award early this year, including Women Awards; and she said that she believes that she stands a chance at winning it once again. “It is because I believe in pushing others especially fellow women for greatness,” she said. “I am currently pushing home grown two female artistes Amantle Brown and Charma Gal, to make sure that people realise that they are just not popular figures but have something special to be nurtured too,” she added.

“These are super stars that I feel they need to be somewhere better than where they are now and with my influence I have to push them because they are simply amazing and their existence can’t be ignored.”
