Miss Botswana Top 10 beauties selected ahead of crowning
The Miss Botswana 2022/23 Top 10 finalists have been selected and now the competition heats up ahead of the crowning on 22 October 2022.
The question is, who will clinch the coveted crown? Some critics have mockingly slammed this year’s contestants, and insist that they are not the prettiest the competition has ever had, but the judges have maintained that they are not only looking for external physical beauty but also intelligence, good personality, a sense of empathy and passion and commitment to community activism and social upliftment. The Top 10 contestants are: Alipo Makosha, Lesego Sejai, Cheshe Tsayang, Goitsemodimo Sejai, Sebaga Manyapetsa, Lesego Chombo, Tshepo Nthaga, Lorato Kgangyapelo, Gontlafetse Oagile and Cynthia Kalayakgosi. Miss Botswana director Benjamin Raletsatsi told media that his year’s theme is, ‘We Are Winning Miss World This Year.’ “We want to use Miss Botswana as a tool to get into the world stage and as a tool that grows the industry. We want to turn Botswana into a tourism destination. We also want to host Miss World in the near future. Through beauty industry we can create jobs and employ many young Batswana,” he said.
