BOTSWANA URGED TO ABOLISH DEATH PENALTY
Joining the rest of the globe to commemorate the 20th World Day against the Death Penalty, Ditshwanelo has urged government to seriously explore other forms of punishment, for capital offences. The day is observed annually on the 10th of October, and is aimed at advocating for the abolition of the death penalty, while also aiming to raise awareness about issues which have an impact on those facing this punishment. Botswana is the only country in Southern Africa which still carries out executions.
