FOOTBALL LEAGUE WITHOUT MONEY – REALLY?

It is official! The football league of this country will kick off this month without a thebe to play for. We heard this over the past weekend gotwe the clubs gathered at some hotel somewhere near Tsolamosese where they were told not to give up hope with not even a single thebe coming out as prize money from the recently concluded 2021/22 league season. Gatwe teams should treat the grants they received last season as all that they could make from the past league competition. Yet for some time the football league’s CEO has been interviewed at various media outlets, telling soccer fans that they would be unveiling a league sponsor soon. The only sponsors we saw unveiled were those of clubs. What happened along the way for clubs to be told they would be competing for nothing? The same football governing body that recently told some clubs they would be relegated to the lowest league for failing to pay debts and all. We are here wondering how these poor clubs were meant to raise the needed funds when there was nothing coming from their mother body, yet they spent by attending games and paying the players. We hope as the league begins, the leadership will be continuing to hunt for something that will motivate the clubs and their players.
