Matebele waylay Moyagoleele
Reigning Botswana Football League (BFL) Champions, Gaborone United will visit one of their hoodoo side, BDF XI in the opening game of the season.
The two teams will lock horns this Saturday at Lobatse Sports Complex and the game is expected to kickoff at 1600 as both Matebele and Moyagoleele are expected to be at their best in the opening game of the season.
Moreover, BDF XI has been a source of Gaborone United’s misfortunes, the national army backed side handed Gaborone United their first defeat last season. With the first game on the cards, many local supporters will be looking forward to see if Matebele can yet again cause their opponents some pain in another highly anticipated fixtures of the season. With a very strong squad, Gaborone United will be hoping to brush aside their opponents with ease but they know the danger that their opponents will pose with their low block and transition; GU’s coach Benny Kgomela and technical team will have to be cautious of the counter attacks posed by their opponents.
On the other hand, Letang Kgengwenyane will want to cause his opponent another misery, destabilizing and frustrating them early in the game with their low block and finding their rhythm with transitional attacks.

Seforo, Pelontle Lerole Onthusitse Mpharitlhe can enjoy the task of sitting back and defending with the likes of Tumisang Pule and Godiraone Modingwane providing cover while the likes of Godfrey Tauyatswala and Thabo Metlhayothle will have to be quick on the counter attacks.
Moyagoleele is expected to play their usual game, dominating the possession and finding pockets of spaces behind defenders, Mothusi Cooper will be expected to give them that rhythm in the midfield and dictate things while Lebogang Ditsele will provide cover, Thero Setsile, Mpho Kgaswane and Onlabetse Makgantai will have to link well to unlock the stubborn defense of Matebele.
In other games, newbies Holy Ghost and Eleven Angels will be in action, Holy Ghost begins their campaign in a tough fixture away to Jwaneng Galaxy at the Galaxy Stadium while Angels will host Morupule Wanderers at Obedi Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown on Saturday. Orapa United hosts Masitaoka at Itekeng and Nico United makes a return to top flight football when they host Sua Flamingoes at Sam Sono Stadium in Selibe-Phikwe. On Sunday, a hungry Township Rollers side hosts Mogoditshane Fighters at Molepolole Sports Complex, Prisons XI will welcome Security Systems at Lobatse Sports Complex while Police XI and Extension Gunners will round off the fixtures at Otse Sports Complex.
