It is a one-stop shop for hair and makeup
Pearl Kgaudi aka Dr P of Pearl Beauty Salon located in Letlhakane, dreams of one day owning a bigger beauty spa.
She recently told Vibe that beautifying people has been her passion ever since she was a young girl. “I joined the beauty industry in my teenage years, and beautifying people has always been a part of me,” she said.
She explained that she started by doing people’s hair, and she later started makeup classes from You Tube. “I loved hair dressing, and as I observed my clients’ pictures with an eye of beauty, I felt something was missing, and I knew I’m the one to close that gap with my gifted hands. Thanks to You Tube, now I do face beats and amazing hairstyles.”
Her salon started operating officially in 2015, and she expressed gratitude that clients appreciate her talent.
She said that she strives to learn new skills about beauty and makeup everyday, keeps her going. “Beauty and make-up are not just a source of income for me but it is also a therapeutic talent. I try to keep learning to improve my skill and keep up with trends,” she said.
Kgaudi said that being a beautician is not as easy as some people view it. “Sometimes having to deal with so many personalities and characters of different customers is a handful, but my growth depends on the constructive criticism I get and I use it to sharpen my skills, “she said.
She further noted he receives positive feedback from her clients, and this fuels her confidence. “My clients believe that I offer natural look makeup, which is something I take pride in because I believe in natural type of makeup.” She has had an opportunity to lay her magic touch on the celebrities including: Makhadzi, Charma Gal, Slizer,Tyte and Sadie Dikgaka. Kgaudi said that she dreams of expanding her brand, employing more youth and grooming them to be entrepreneurs. She noted that she is excited about the wedding season, particularly as she loves doing bridal makeup!
