Couple trouble leads to suicide

- BY IRENE SHONE

Maun Police registered a case of suicide, involving a 30-year-old man of Disaneng ward early this week on Monday.

Maun Police Station Commander, Superintendent Orateng Chenamo said they found the man’s body hanging on the house rafters, and was taken to Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital where he was certified dead. The deceased left a suicide note in which he noted that he had some misunderstandings with his lover.

Chenamo lamentas that there are visible cases of misunderstandings between lovers in his region, and men seem not to handle the situation well most of the time. He encouraged men to accept rejection and breakups, adding that speaking about problems always helps. “People should normalise talking to their friends, social workers, dikgosi and even police as we also have counselling sections within our parameters,” he said, noting that life is precious and people should be there for one another when they are battling with emotional issues.
