BEAUTY, BRAINS & ELEGANCE!

2022/23 crowned Miss Botswana Chombo

- Lesego KELETSO THOBEGA

Ahearty congratulations to the newly crowned Miss Botswana, Lesego Chombo. The 24-year-old leggy beauty with brains hails from Maun. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Botswana, and is an admitted attorney at the High Court of Botswana.

She was crowned at a glitzy ceremony held at the Fairscape Precinct in Gaborone. Her first

and second princess are Tshepo Nthaga and Sebaga Manyapetsa, respectively.

Chombo has the aura of an allrounder: she has a girl next door appeal, is an ambitious and hard working professional go-getter, and elegant sexy siren in between.

In a statement, she described herself as someone who strives to reach her full potential.“I am an allrounder who believes in personal advancement. Over and above my career, I am constantly enhancing other skills such as modeling, hairdressing, baking, playing guitar and singing etc. I never put myself in a box because I know that all my diverse skills and interests can co-exist,” she said.

Chombo is a born again woman of God and worships at Bible Life Ministries in Tlokweng, and is active in praise and worship. Her win is a source of pride for the Christian community, particularly youth as she is showing that giving your life to Jesus Christ as your personal saviour does not mean becoming a frumpy bore, but an energetic and vibrant firebrand who most importantly, uses their gifts and talents to bring positive change to society, and also encourage others to serve the Kingdom of God and spread the good news of His grace and eternal love.

Chombo indicated that she is passionate about social justice. “I will use the Miss Botswana crown to pursue social justice through my service. As an individual who has so much love for the underprivileged community, I believe that their inclusion is vital in the pursuit of social justice. I will therefore continue to create a conducive environment for the development of underprivileged children and promote the accessibility of economic, social and political resources to the underprivileged community as a whole.”

The beauty will represent Botswana at the 71st Miss World Final next year. Given her flawless beauty, infectious charismatic personality and intelligence, we look forward to her reign of elevation and grace!
