Women in mining conference returns
Organisers of the annual Women in Mining Conference have announced the return of the event after a two-year hiatus, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Slated for Gaborone this week, the event has developed into a niche empowerment conference for women in mining. “This year, we are very pleased to extend the programme to two days for the first time,” said Malebogo Marumoagae, Director of Belle Larissa. She said the event also seeks to celebrate how far women in mining have come over the years. In addition, it will provide a network platform to trade skills, innovate solutions, and inspire one another to become exceptional future leaders.
The event will be the 4th year installment showcasing women from Southern Africa and beyond who have made notable contributions to the mining industry. Some of the objectives of the conference will be to provide a platform for women to articulate their challenges and perspectives of the mining industry and how to make the environment conducive, for them to make a significant contribution.
