Peak time for fraudsters

Gatwe ba bo ba simolotse. While this is a season to be merry, others are on the lookout for those they can defraud. Botswana Police has been swamped by recent reports of people swindled of large amounts of money by fraudsters. Gatwe, these no-good fellows have even deployed a ‘lion in the sheep skin’ tactic by posing as police officers investigating cases of theft or robbery involving cash. Magatwe a re eventually they demand that the victim gives them their ATM card and PIN, and later money is withdrawn from their account.
