Snazzy restaurant opens its doors in Selebi Phikwe
Food entrepreneur Thabang Tidimane recently opened doors to his new restaurant in SelebiPhikwe, a year after establishing his food business brand, Kasi Vibes, and he is excited about his prospects.
The young trained chef started off operating a catering and mobile business for a few years in the town, and saved up for his own space and for him it is an exciting experience. He told Vibe that it feels both good and scary to have his own restaurant now, because it is a big move. “I went from selling from home to a few customers to now having the community of Selibe Phikwe and surrounding areas as my customers, and I now have to feed them and give them the best service ever...So it feels good and it is also overwhelming in a good way because I now have big customers and have to do my best to retain them nd make them feel that Kasi Vibes is a big brand,” he said.
The restaurant specialises in selling fast food such as burgers, wings, 1/4 chicken, platters and shesanyamas. He said that their chicken is a flame grilled chicken with kasilicious sauces. He explained that the difference is that customers customise their marinated and sauces.
The flexible menu that caters for everyone regardless of their taste and preferences.
Tidimane said that the people of Selebi-Phikwe have welcomed the Kasi Vibes restaurant in a good way and they are grateful. “We are were we are today because of them, they have this undying love for us.” The restaurant offers an awesome ambience and Tidimane and his team time took time to design the interior and also complete the project with a classy touch because they wanted something unique, cool and laid back, he noted.
Tidimane said that when conceptualising the restaurant, he wanted it to be about the customers. “Most of our customers have been quite loyal over the years, and we want them to keep supporting us and we promise to give them nothing but the best food and ambience,” he said.
Tidimane added that the plan is to expand the Kasi Vibes brand, and open new branches across Botswana, especially in Gaborone.
