YUMMY HOME-MADE CHICKEN NUGGETS

-

I think that we can all agree that fried food is amazing (including these nuggets). These chicken nuggets are a perfect snack for those times when you feel peckish but don’t want anything too filling, or as a quick dinner that you can have with a side of salads or bread. You can also pack these nuggets for lunch at school or work, as they will sate you but not leave you bloated. Plus, they are delicious and yummy!

INGREDIENTS:

*2 chicken breasts boneless, skinless *1 cup of bread crumbs or panko crumbs

*1/2 c Parmesan cheese

*1 tsp garlic salt (with parsley flakes) *I tablespoon of Italian seasoning

*1 cup of all-purpose flour

*2 eggs

*2 tablespoon of water

*A bit of oil for frying

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cut chicken into bite sized pieces about 1-1.5 inches.

2. Place the flour into a bowl. Add the eggs and water into a second bowl and beat together.

3. In a third bowl combine the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic salt and Italian seasoning. Mix together.

4. Add about 2 inches of oil to a frying pan and heat over medium heat.

5. While the oil is heating up, coat the chicken. Coat each nugget with flour, then dip into the egg mixture. Finally, coat with the bread crumb mixture.

6. When the oil is ready place one nugget into the oil to test. It should sizzle immediately. If it darkens too quickly without cooking the inside then the oil is too hot, then you can adjust the heat accordingly.

7. Fry the nuggets for about 3-4 minutes on each side.

8. Once cooked, place them on a wire rack, or paper towel, to drain and cool off. When serving, place the nuggets with your favourite sauce or dip - the spicier the better!
