Cookies and More offers sweet delicates

- BY IRENE SHONE

Louise Coghlan of Cookies and More says the art of baking isn’t just about the taste but it is also therapeutic. She bakes a wide assortment of cakes, cupcakes, mini cakes and muffins, cookies as well as desserts. She said that she started making sweet treats when she was still in high school. “It started as a trial and error engagement and it transitioned to a business,” she said.

Coghlan said her secret to produce tasty flavour and also appetising products was motivated by her love for perfection in the kitchen, she noted. I have always liked food and making food that people enjoy, both visually appealling and to the taste, “she said. She explained that her cakes are beautiful and delicious.

Coghlan noted that she finally treated her art as a sweet treat business last year, prior to the feedback that she got from those who tasted her products.

“The feedback has been really good. I have a lot of return clients, and this keeps me going,” she said. She is of the view that baking or delivering that freshly aroma taste isn’t just about showing off the perfect final product, but really therapeutic.“Baking means everything to me, than just a business. I find baking to be therapeutic, and every day comes with a new lesson,“she said.

Coghlan’s dream is that I would really like to keep on improving and to also open a lifestyle restaurant/bakery offering fresh deli and food.“I wish to improve on my sugar craft skills and also include a wider range of baked goods like artisanal breads and pastries, to my collection. The determined cook/stylist also procures custom gift packages.” She said that her target market is anyone who enjoys cake and sweet treats.
