BITC appoints new Chairperson
Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) this week announced the appointment of Palesa Semele as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
According to a statement, “Semele brings a variety of skills and expertise to the strategic direction of BITC. She has strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, and is well versed in being able to develop creative and innovative solutions.”
BITC further said the new Board Chairperson has over the years served the organisation diligently and has immensely contributed to the strategic direction, growth and transformation of BITC.
“Within the BITC board, she has held key positions such as Vice Chairperson of the Board, Chairperson of the Finance and Audit Committee, as well as the Vice Chairperson of the HR committee,” said BITC.
Semele currently serves as the Head of Internal Audit at Botswana Building Society (BBS) Limited. Prior to joining BBS, Semele held several Senior positions at Ernst and Young, Botswana Development Corporation and Stanbic Bank Botswana. She holds an ACCA Qualification from Botswana Accountancy College obtained in 2002.
