DRONES TO DELIVER HEALTH SUPPLIES NEW HOTEL TO ENHANCE TOURISM

Okavango District Health Management Team (DHMT) will soon start using drones to deliver health commoditie­s. It is expected that the drones will among others help in timely delivery of specimen to the testing laboratory after collection without quality being compromise­d. It will also help in challenges of limited resources, especially fleet. The implementa­tion follows a pilot exercise conducted in Palapye last year. The drones will help in delivery of health commoditie­s in far to reach areas such as Xaixai, Qangwa, Nxauxau, Seronga, Beetsha and Gudigwa.

The Debswana Pension Fund (DPF) has partnered with Cresta Marakanelo to construct a four-star boutique hotel in Jwaneng. The P68 million double storey property will comprise 50 rooms, with 25 rooms per floor. Constructi­on is expected to take 14 months. The project, described as a key milestone of partnershi­p between the two parties, is expected to uplift the tourism and hospitalit­y sector in the area.
