This light read self-help book delivers a unique perspective as to why men are attracted to a strong woman who stands up for herself, and reveals why a strong woman is more desirable than a “yes woman” who routinely sacrifices herself and her happiness to please other people.

I love any book that is empowering and uplifting but also shifts perspective and this is one such book, that delivers a powerful message on the importance of being a bold, courageous and driven woman who goes for what they want. I believe in being polite and kind but not “nice.” I learnt from a young age that being “nice” merely leads to you being turned into a doormat by people who take advantage of that. So, I have never really cared much about being liked or accepted but being happy and doing what makes me happy. So far, so good. This attitude is often perceived as “rebellious” but not really so. I think generally, people feel unsettled by women who break rules, stand up for themselves and put themselves first. Some people like subservient and doormat women who just look pretty and get pulled by the nose.

Unfortunately I am not such a woman and I know many women who are not like that and I want to lead their lives on their own terms and conditions. This book categories the notion that such women are bad or rebels.

This book offers a unique perspective on why men are attracted to strong women who can stand up for themselves, and is full of hilarious real-life relationship advice and the author helps readers to know how to stand their ground and relate to both men and women. The author teaches how to be more assertive without being made out to be a doormat and walkover. She writes in a funny, hilarious and quirky manner and lifts the lid on topics we don’t usually want to tread such as the importance of not being too available, being true to yourself and that you are good enough as your unique self regardless of who says and does what. The reality is that when you are true to yourself many people feel insecure and inferior because of their own shortcomings and inadequacies but you don’t need to be part of that toxic energy as you can also inspire other people to accept themselves and be comfortable with who they are in a world that thrives off “herd mentality.”
