Lalah’s Beauty Corner to introduce locally made beauty products
Make-up doesn’t come as just simple basics of applying costmetics to enhance beauty but it is also an opportunity to create suitable products, according to Larona Koosaletse of Lalah’s Beauty Corner. In an interview with Vibe, she explained that it wasn’t a coincidence for her to join the beauty industry, as she plans on producing her own makeup products one. “Makeup is simply an art of applying cosmetics to enhance or alter one’s appearance, through quality products,“she said.
She noted that her observation is that, products used for makeup play a major role on the outcome look after applying makeup. She further said as much as she always wakes up ready to beautify people, she learns everyday how to perfect makeup application. “It always fulfills me interacting with different people and helping them become the best version of themselves,” she said.
Koosaletse is convinced that using make-up can improve women’s confidence and self-esteem. She also said that with the positive feedback she has received so far, while at work, she looks forward to closing the gap of applying international brands on makeup and skin care, and rather promote local brands, which are produced to suit African skin and the climatic conditions too.
Koosaletse is of the view that the Botswana make-up industry is doing well at the moment but it is still growing, hence make-up artists should keep improving and should be particular about the quality of make-up products that they use, in order to achieve the best makeup look.
“Once I have grown the brand to my best level, I will engage and teach some upcoming beauticians how to improve their craft and get into the industry with that international mentality and opt to franchise in towns and big villages,” she said. She also shared that she wishes to create beauty and makeup products to benefit the industry.” I am working hard towards producing beauty products under my name because I want to grow within the industry,” she said.
