SAFELY HOME Gabane teenager found alive, missing Ramotswa man found dead
Man commits suicide after alleging cheating by girlfriend
Loago Kevin Tshetlhane (15) of Gabane who went missing last month in August, has been found alive and healthy. According to the teenager’s mother, Obakeng Tshetlhane (40) of Gasiko ward in Gabane, she had been looking for her son for days without success.
She was put out of her misery this past Saturday when the police arrived at home with Loago. “He is home, they brought him to me. It appears he had been somewhere in Gaborone West. At the moment, we really do not have much details on what he was doing there and why he was not coming home. It appears he does not want to talk much,” a relieved Tshetlhane said. She said her son is showing signs of fatigue and complains a lot of hunger. She suspects that wherever he was, he had been starving. Last week Tshetlhane was worried sick about her son and would wake up early in the morning and traverse the streets of Gabane, Mogoditshane and Gaborone looking for her son. Finally, she can rest now that her son has been found. Meanwhile, the search that had been launched for a missing Ramotswa man who was last seen on Friday night after complaining that his girlfriend was cheating on him ended yesterday on Tuesday after he was found dead. Superintendent Keoagile Tau of Ramotswa Police Station confirmed the suicide, saying it was not clear when the man, Patrick Lalu Tlhaselo, committed suicide as the body was found in a decomposed state. The Tlhaselo family had not known peace and sleep since that Friday night after he was reported to have had an altercation with his girlfriend and mother of his children over suspicions of cheating. Reports say the 46-year-old man had before disappearing on Friday night sent what sounded like suicide notes to some of his relatives, telling them to prepare for his funeral as he had given up on the turbulence that characterised his love life. On the same evening, he posted a message at the village’s facebook group page, ‘Ditiragalo Tsa Motse Wa Ramotswa, asking for forgiveness from those who have known him.
He wrote on facebook: “Ke kopa go tsaya sebaka se ke ikope maitshwarelo mo mongwe le mongwe o nkitseng. Eish, seemo se se bakilwe ke Lorato Majafe le mosimane wa gagwe o mosha. Ga kitla a siamelwa ke sepe.” The message was followed by three crying emojis, wherein he insinuated that his girlfriend and her new boyfriend were to blame for whatever he was out to do. It was after those messages on Friday night that he went missing, with the search for him commencing immediately and into the weekend until he was found on Tuesday, hanging on a tree by the landfill at Tsietsamotswana lands a few kilometres after Boatle on the A1 road to Otse. Investigations into the matter continue.
