- BY IRENE SHONE

Hip Hop and RnB musician, Juicy Black’s new mixtape in which he features Gimic, is ready for release. The talented duo gave a beautiful performance at the Miss Epic Botswana launch this past weekend at Thapong Visual Arts. They performed three songs, Rato lame, Can’t Stop and Ride or Die.

Juicy Black, who joined the music industry in 2012 told Vibe that he has collaborated with Gimic on their 12 track mixtape to give their fans something special to listen to. He currently has five official singles and says his mission is to be a well known international ariste. The Tlokweng based musician believes in collaborations and grooming talent. He told Vibe that if local musicians could often colaborate on their music and inspire one another, they could go far.

“I have observed that there is already growth within the local music industry and I’m totally inspired to market on the international platform in the future,” said Juicy Black. He said among other artistes who motivates him to work harder is William Last KRM, who is a widely recognized international artiste now.

Juicy Black has a music studio in Tlokweng, ‘Hustle Movement Record’ where he tries to mould talent and prove that Botswana has great potential to produce musicians of international standard. He has already signed five artistes under his record label and told Vibe that the studio charges lower prices to enable upcoming talent to have their work recorded and be heard. Apart from being a Hip Hop artiste and RnB artiste, Juicy Black is also a Piano artiste. He has worked with other well known artistes including, Nicole Martinez and Lord Rage. The mix tape is expected to be released on October 10th.
