Waffles are simply yummy every time. Self-made chef and a lover of fine things, Lebo Ashley Phillip this week exposes food lovers to her waffles recipe. Sun Kitchen is impressed by the delicious taste of her treats and of course her food presentation everytime. How to prepare Lebo's homemade waffles.

• This recipe makes around 12 waffles in total but you can freeze the batter for future use in a few days.*

• Ingredients:

• 2 cups cake flour

• 1 teaspoon salt

• 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder

• 2 tablespoons white sugar

• 2 eggs (size 1)

• 1 ½ cups warm milk

• cup butter, melted

• 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Step 1

Start by mixing your dry ingredients: cake flour, baking powder, sugar and salt

• Whisk the eggs, plus milk and add in the vanilla essence and butter

• Mix the dry ingredients and the egg mixture together until well blended and smooth. Turn on your waffle iron machine to preheat before use. Butter the machine’s on both sides and wait for seven minutes (depending on the machine)

• Pour the waffle mix into the waffle iron. Careful that the batter does not bubble over the machine.

• Cook the waffles for 10-15 minutes - Check waffle readiness if they are a golden brown on both sides

• Wait till waffles have cooled off and serve with toppings of your choice. In this recipe we’ve added two scoops of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, fresh blueberries, strawberries, chocolate sauce and maple syrup with Oreo cookie crumbs.
