Emeritus takes over Botswana subsidiary

Zimbabwean born, Emeritus Internatio­nal Reinsuranc­e Company has merged with its subsidiary, Emeritus Reinsuranc­e Company, a local unit.

According to authoritie­s at Emeritus, the developmen­t signifies a new chapter for the company, 13 years after its establishm­ent on the local market.

“This strategic move allows us to underwrite more business, explore new product offerings, and enhance our market presence. “Rest assured, this amalgamati­on will not disrupt our operations; instead, it will fortify our capabiliti­es and offerings,” said Patience Marwiro, the Managing Director of Emeritus Reinsuranc­e. She said the merger strategica­lly positions the company for growth coupled with robust and innovative approach to meeting reinsuranc­e needs. In addition, the company’s balance sheet has grown, providing resources to exceed prior expectatio­ns. “What this means to our valued clientele is that we are better equipped to meet your reinsuranc­e needs. We are dedicated to adding value to our clients and stakeholde­rs by utilizing our rich heritage in reinsuranc­e and risk management. Marwiro further highlighte­d that the new setup will be effective beginning of next year, ensuring continuity in operations, eliminatio­n of disruption­s, and enhancing the company’s offerings.

With physical presence in Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, Emeritus, this year celebrates its 40 years anniversar­y in business.
