Nthaga shares plans for improvement
In a recent interview, Masitaoka FC Coach, Thaloba Nthaga provided valuable insights into the team’s performance and outlined his plans for improvement. Acknowledging the challenging start to the season, the coach emphasized the need for patience as the younger team continues to develop and gel together.
Coach Nthaga pointed out that the team’s first three games were against top-four finishers from the previous season. Additionally, the loss of key players from the previous season has impacted the team’s performance. The coach highlighted the importance of giving the younger team time to adapt and grow as a group, especially considering the tough fixtures they faced early on.
Despite these difficulties, the team managed to secure a point from challenging away matches against Orapa and Nico, demonstrating their potential. When asked about the significance of having two assistant coaches, Coach Nthaga emphasized that having multiple coaches is a common practice in many teams. He believes that the more coaches there are, the better, as it brings different perspectives and expertise to the coaching staff. The influence of the assistant coaches on the team’s philosophy and tactics is crucial, as they contribute to the overall development and strategic planning.
Regarding pressure when results are not coming, Coach Nthaga remained confident and explained that the team is implementing a new strategy, different from the focus of the past few years. The coach highlighted the gradual reduction of the team’s average age as a sign of progress. He emphasized that the assessment of the team’s performance will be based on the new strategic imperatives, indicating a shift in expectations and evaluation criteria.
Looking ahead, Coach Nthaga assured Majathaga faithfuls that they can expect a youthful team that plays an enterprising style of football. The coach’s emphasis on the team’s youthfulness indicates an exciting and dynamic approach to the game, which aligns with the team’s future plans. “We have a strategy that is different from what was the focus in the last few years,” he said.
