FOOTBALL MEANS SERIOUS BUSINESS

-

Nowadays, football clubs and regions need to have a clear structure in place. This includes an office, staff, and technical capabilities. The South East Regional Football Association’s office opening shows that it is possible to create a well-run organization that meets the needs of the modern game. This is a big encouragement to other regions and clubs in Botswana,” Letshwiti said.

Letshwiti stressed the importance of the regions in the development of football in Botswana. He pointed out that the success of the regions would be reflected in the quality of the national teams and the Botswana Premier League. He praised the South East Regional Football Association for its hard work and encouraged it to continue striving for excellence in the sport. He also stressed the need for the association to stick to its plan and not be deterred by challenges or setbacks.

“Professionalizing football in Botswana is essential for its long-term success. While government support is valuable, it is not enough to sustain the sport on its own. This is why we are encouraging all those involved in football to generate their own revenue. It is important for the regions to be self-sufficient, as the Botswana Football Association cannot do everything on its own. We are working to equip the regions with the knowledge and skills they need to become financially independent,” he said. Letshwiti explained that the Botswana Football Association is working to equip its regions with the skills and knowledge they need to be self-sufficient. He also encouraged the people of Ramotswa and local businesses to support their region, so that it can carry out its mandate effectively. He stressed that the region should put effort in the development of women’s football as the association is committed to this goal. He noted that football is for everyone and the development of both men’s and women’s football is essential for the future of the sport in Botswana.
