VTM FC under pressure

- NALEDI LEMOGANG

The VTM FC team is still struggling to find its footing in the Premier League. After a promising start in the lower leagues, the team has yet to win a single match in the Premier League, losing three and drawing one.

Their next match will be up against a formidable opponent in the form of Township Rollers this evening ( Wednesday) at Royal Aria Stadium

This match will be a real test of the VTM FC team’s ability to compete at the highest level.

Popa on the other hand, are in fine form and will be confident of extending their winning streak after losing their first match Against Jwaneng Galaxy over the weekend. While Township Rollers has a strong track record and a clear advantage over VTM FC, the outcome of any football match is unpredictable. The two teams have never played each other before. VTM FC has so far, lost to teams like Security Systems and Matebele FC.

However, they have shown potential and cannot be written off. Over the weekend, they lost 0-2 to Matebele FC and a positive result against Township Rollers would be a huge boost for the team. After the loss to Matebele FC, VTM’s head coach Leutlwetse Tshireletso has come under pressure to deliver a win. He attributes his team’s difficulties to, “premier league fright,” or the anxiety that comes with playing in the top division.

He says that the players are making mistakes that are costing them goals, and they lack confidence. However, the team has a number of players with experience in the Premier League and South Africa’s PSL. The head coach is optimistic that they can turn things around and start picking up points soon.
