- BY IRENE SHONE

Nail Fetish Bar is a local nail bar that looks forward to expanding and establishing additional Nail outlets across the country.

The art of nail technology is rapidly growing in Botswana and Founder and Proprietor of Nail Fetish Bar, Laone Morewatlala says she does everything in her power to stay at the top of the game. She regard to herself as a young and highly driven female entrepreneur with aspirations. Other than offering the special beauty service of nail art, she told Vibe that she was attracted to this industry by shortage of jobs. “I was attracted to this industry by the limited job opportunities within the market. My love for beauty as a whole motivated me to ensure that I become part of the nail art industry in Botswana,” she said. The African Mall, Gaborone-based nail outlet offers gel manicure and pedicure currently. Morewatlala told Vibe that they believe in perfection at Nail Fetish Bar, which is why they are still focusing on gel manicures and pedicures. “Other nail techniques will be subsequently added to our catalogue, pending perfection of our craft. These would include acrylic and sculpting,” she explained. She is happy that Nail Fetish Bar consistently receives positive feedback and enjoys a high rate of customer satisfaction at the moment. She also emphasised that witnessing her clientele’s delight, as they walk out of her establishment is truly a remarkable experience for her. “The artistry and skill dedicated to creating stunning nail designs are further amplified when we witness the genuine appreciation and satisfaction expressed by my clientele,” she added. She added that her clients recognise that Nail Fetish is a relatively young establishment with aspirations for growth, and their patience during this transitional phase is commendable and she remains committed to providing exceptional nail services despite the space constraints at her work place. She dreams of opening a lifestyle nail bar in the future to operate a larger scale and reach out to all her customers. “I acknowledge the inconvenience faced by customers traveling from distant locations such as Lobatse, Francistown, Palapye, and beyond, to avail themselves for my services in Gaborone and for this reason I wish to expand and ensure that my clients get my services wherever they are,” she said. The busiest period in her nail art work is during festive seasons, special occasions, and community events holidays including; Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Valentine’s Day. “These are particularly popular times when my clients seeks our expert nail care services,” she shared. Morewatlala further said that at the moment, the main challenge within their industry is increased competition from other nail bars, but still l remains content in crafting her skill. She added that she is already preparing her art for Valentine’s Day to ensure that she gives her clients best relevant nail art work.
