Mshilo has finally released her highly anticipated new single dubbed, ‘Mmankuye’.

Mshilo is one of the local talented jazz artiste with a special style of songwriting. This captivating song, like most of her songs, is infused with the rich sounds of Ikalanga jazz. It beautifully showcases Mshilo’s cultural heritage and musical prowess. The song boasts soulful melodies and intricate rhythms, and automatically invites listeners on a journey through the heart of Ikalanga culture. She has collaborated with yet another powerful name within the local music industry, Suggie Fisher who is the backing vocalist on this music offering. The song was composed by Mshilo, while it was mixed and mastered at KK Music Production where it was also recorded. It was produced by Kuseri Kumakili and arranged by Isaac Tau. Mshilo told Vibe that for this song, she draws inspiration from traditional Ikalanga music and has blended it with contemporary jazz elements, to simply craft a truly unique and unforgettable listening experience. “The song draws inspiration from jealousy which often find its way into friendships. ‘Mmankuye’ sheds light into the struggles and conflicts that arise when jealousy creeps into friendships, touching upon themes of betrayal, longing and ultimately forgiveness,” shared Mshilo.

The single also features amazing instrumental performances and collaborations with talented musicians, adding layers of depth and complexity to the track. Mshilo told Vibe that the new single is available on all major streaming platforms. Like many of her songs, this single was deliberately released to give something rich and interesting to her fans. “I can guarantee that this single will captivate listeners and leave a lasting impression,” said Mshilo. Mshilo and team are already working on the video of the song and expect to have it complete by end of April. She is happy to share that the song is playing in all radio stations and it would also be available online for streaming next week on March 27th.
