The third edition of the ‘Thari Ya Sechaba Jazz Music Festival’ is scheduled for Waterfront in Gaborone and is expected to be bigger and better.

Thari Ya Sechaba is a platform that was created to empower women in the music industry. Organiser of the event, Tsholofelo Keebone better known as Mc Tsholo shared with Vibe that they take pride in the fact that what started as a local concept has now grown to be an international event that now unites music enthusiasts from all corners of the Southern Africa. “We are glad that the event is gearing up to be bigger and more international than ever,” he said. The event is set for May 4th, 2024, and Mc Tsholo reiterated that it will showcase phenomenal talents from Botswana to fulfill their mandate to empower and celebrate the incredible female artists shaping the industry. He promised an unforgettable experience, even featuring internationally acclaimed artists, adding a global flavor to this already spectacular event.

The event boasts of live music, dynamic acts, and a lineup of powerful local DJs. While the event was meant to embrace the power of women in music, it is also a celebration of diversity, unity, and the incredible talent within Botswana’s music scene, according to Mc Tsholo. This mesmerizing celebration of music and empowerment will also feature artistes including; Punah Gabasiane Molale, Nono Siile, Tebogo Ketlhoilwe, Mshilo, Zana Cultural Vanguard, Una Sell, SavannahBw, Rachel Taukobong and Dj Chabo, and Dj Fondofire. Mc Tsholo noted that they have about 25 performers with supporting acts from Great Jazz Legends and others in Southern Africa.
