Some women also not happy with Jujuvine’s insinuations

-

Still on the matter of Jujuvine and his call for Batswana to contribute matshediso through his accounts, there was an observation made by some male participants in the comedian’s follow up posts. Jujuvine posted: Diphenti ga di shota mo dishopong ska la makala Ladies, Banna ba BW ba di apara le lona. Dinoga!!”

Earlier he had posted that Batswana men ‘ba lefufa, jealous, baloi, ba apara diphenti.’

There are women who added to Juvuvine’s post, saying things like: Ga o ba itse banna ba Botswana, re di ba apoletse diphenti tseo.

Some men questioned why such ladies were glorifying Jujuvine’s words which essentially were demeaning to women. It was then that some women turned around to also express displeasure at the words of the comedian. “Kana gatwe re dinoga, re baloi, re mafufa, mme re a tshega,” one lady wrote. To which another responded: “Akere go bua comedian, so he is joking. Rona basadi akere we are always subjects of sick jokes. So let’s laugh… hahahaha.” Clearly some of the women were not amused. One did not see the joke in anything at all, even questioning the motive. She wrote: ““Was he really joking? Was it done from a good place? If he was genuine, why did he delete or edit the original post?” The insinuation on women is taken from Juju’s reference to men wearing panties, and the men and women who understood him this way feel he has also disrespected and misrepresented women. Clearly some did not see the comedian’s ‘joke.’
