Upcoming artiste, Chenesani dreams of elevating the local Afro culture and be recognised internationally one day. The bubbly musician told Vibe that she did not just find herself within the music industry, but took her time to join the club. “Joining the music industry was simple for me because as a well rounded model, I have had my time to think about my future extensively. I believe that I could be anything I want in life. Having grown up listening to music has just inspired me to follow my passion of music. I grew up listening to RnB music a lot and when I started singing, I already knew that my genre of music was rather Afro,” she said.

The Nkange-born musician’s debut single is called ‘Maloba.’ “It is a song about love. ‘Maloba’ narrates a story that love is natural and courageous and it is vital for achieving greater success in life,” she shared. The song was produced by D Lozinyana recording studios in Francistown sometime last year. Her second offering is called ‘Ditebogo’ and like it’s name suggests, it is a song about gratitude. Chenesani told Vibe that when she wrote this song, she had all people with good intentions in her heart.

“I wanted to appreciate all the people who are always there for others, especially friends who stand by us when we have nothing to offer ourselves,” she said, further explaining that the song was inspired by a few of her friends who mean a lot to her life. It was released towards end of last year in October. The single has been submitted to different radio stations.

She also has two collaborations where she featured one of Francistown’s best singers. The two songs are called ‘Mpuledise’ and ‘Ndo thama Chini.’

“Mpuledise comes as an additional message that says friendships are good, for they encourage togetherness and where friends are not available, people should rather trust God with their lives,” she said. ‘Ndo thama chini’ is kalanga for ‘What do I do?’ She explained that the song denotes a situation where someone is struggling and wonders how they will ever resolve their situation. “It reminds humanity that it is always best to look to God,” she said.
