Delicious beef stew

Beef stew recipes come in different flavors. Some prefer it with a bit of fried meat, while some would rather have all ingredient­s mixed together from the beginning. Chef John

Kaalvoet/Barefoot Chef shares his unique beef stew recipe;

Ingredient­s:

- 1kg meat (of your choice), cubed - 3 tablespoon­s butter

- 3 onions, chopped

- 3 cloves garlic, minced

- Salt, to taste

- Paprika, to taste

- Black pepper, to taste

- 2 tomatoes, chopped

- 200ml water

- 7 potatoes, boiled and cubed - 1 carrot, boiled and sliced - Pepper, to taste

- Parsley, chopped, to taste

Instructio­ns:

1. Begin by cutting the meat into cubes if it’s not already done

2. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the cubed meat to the pan and fry until golden brown. Once cooked, remove the meat from the pan and set it aside

3. In the same pan, add the chopped onions. Sauté until they turn golden brown

4. Return the cooked meat to the pan with the onions. Mix well to combine

5. Add the minced garlic, salt, paprika, and black pepper to the pan. Stir until the spices are well incorporat­ed

6. Toss in the chopped tomatoes and mix everything together

7. Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about five minutes to allow the flavors to meld

8. Add the boiled potatoes and sliced carrots to the pan. Mix gently to combine

9. Season with additional pepper to taste

10. Allow the dish to simmer for another five minutes, allowing the vegetables to absorb the flavors

11. Finally, sprinkle chopped parsley over the dish and mix well

12. Serve hot and enjoy this hearty and flavorful meat and vegetable stew

13. This dish pairs well with rice or crusty bread

14. Add the boiled potatoes, boiled carrots, pepper and mix everything

15. Let it cook for another five minutes. Add the parsley and mix well, then serve and enjoy!
