Tnd he Board of Directors of the local funeral service group, FSG, with a Pan-African footprint, has appointed a new Group Managing Director, Fergus Ferguson beginning of this month, expected to drive the company’s latest blueprint to be a high value company. FSG board is optimistic Ferguson will bring valuable insights and leadership to propel FSG to new heights.

“With his expertise spanning over 20 years in various leadership roles in the financial services sector, he has a proven track record of successfully driving growth, implementing strategic initiatives, and leading high performing teams,” said the board.

So far, the Group operates a number of subsidiaries in Botswana, Zambia and South Africa with a distribution network of 35 branches.

Ferguson will oversee the overall operations of the company across the three markets, working closely with the Group Board and leadership teams to guide strategic decision-making.

“He will be responsible for developing and executing plans to further strengthen our market position, expand our customer base, enhance operational efficiencies, and foster an inclusive and collaborative work environment,” said the Board. Last year, FSG appointed new directors, following acquisition of majority shareholding by Africa Lighthouse Capital (ALC), through an investment vehicle, ALCF I Investment II Proprietary. According to ALC the appointment of new directors was prompted by the need to put in place a world class corporate governance board structure.
