MISS WORLD AFRICA TO PARTICIPATE IN WORLD TOUR

- BY IRENE SHONE

The beautiful Miss World Africa, Lesego Chombo will take part in the upcoming Beauty with a Purpose world tour across Africa,Asia, and Europe, arranged by the Miss World organisation.

She said recently at a press conference that travelling the world is one of the opportunities that she was eyeing when she wanted the Miss World title, therefore she is glad to be part of the Miss World team.

With her Miss Botswana reign now over, she intends to commercialise her talents following Miss World competition in addition to focussing on her Genesis project. She is excited for working with various institutions as a brand ambassador and also indicated that she welcomes any sponsorship to carry on with her work.

She shared that for anything to do with Miss World África, the organisation sponsors her, but she needs extra funding to support her project. Genesis project is about creating a conducive environment for the development of disadvantaged children through a developmental programme that equips parents with the skills and behavioral attributes that are necessary in promoting their children’s emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing.

“I am looking forward to speaking engagements where I can impact and inspire others while also making a living,” said.

Chombo said she will not be participating in the Miss Universe pageant.

“I wanted to be Miss World, a coveted title that

I missed by a whisker. I took seven years to prepare for this,” she said. She emphasised that post her Miss World Africa reign, she will be done with the world of pageantry.

Chombo also introduced the team she would be working with during her reign as Miss World Africa at the Lesego Chombo Foundation. She further expressed her wish to collaborate with friends she made at the Miss World platform, including partnering with other world foundations.
