G/NORTH RESIDENTS GRATEFUL FOR WATER CONNECTION, BUT..

-

Gaborone North residents have had a number of challenges for years, including but not limited to water supply, bad roads, lack of sewage system, just to mention but a few.

I wish to thank Water Utilities Corporation for connecting the long awaited water supply to almost all residents of Gaborone North, even though it did not come cheap.

Now that water connection is underway, it is our hope as Gaborone North residents that government will assist by connecting the sewerage system to complement the water connections.

It is very important for a proper sewage system to be put in place as a matter of urgency, as it will go a long way in ensuring that Gaborone North residents get to live in a hygienic environment, like those of other wards/extentions. There are signs that roads leading to and in Gaborone North are being attended to as heaps of gravel/sand can be seen by the road side, suggesting that perhaps the government has finally decided to build proper roads In Gaborone North.

This is a welcome development, and it will most definitely benefit the residents, and even encourage investors to consider coming to Gaborone North.

Investors are itching to come and put up malls, clinics and so on. Organisations like BITRI could perhaps come on board and donate streetlights or flood lights to some areas of Gaborone North, which have proved to be very dangerous for students and some workers who get off work late.

It is not uncommon for thieves to take advantage and snatch valuables from unsuspecting victims, knowing quite well that they will easily and quickly take cover because of the dark streets.

Developments such as these would obviously create jobs and enhance the value of properties and actually enhance the look of our Capital City. Remember: short-cuts lead to corruption and corruption has negative impact on citizens.
