PRESIDENT’S WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO 2020 NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS CANDIDATES

The advent of the deadly and life threatening Covid-19 in the global village early this year almost paralyzed the education systems. Botswana did not become an exception as everybody was pressing panic buttons regarding children.

However, through dialogue which is embedded within the principles of our democracy, the Trade Union Movement together with Education stakeholders in Botswana was able to pave the path for the future. Schools resumed under intense fear and discomfort amongst parents, teachers and students but our God prevailed and today we are at the doors of the Examination rooms.

It is therefore my pleasure on behalf of Botswana Teachers Union (BTU) to relay this message of goodwill to all the 2020 National Examination Candidates both in public and private schools across all the levels.

Let me encourage you to believe in yourself, your abilities and your talents. Having a positive attitude will also contribute positively to your success in these examinations. Give it your all and believe that you shall reach your destiny of success and victory.

To working our dear jointly teachers with who the parents, are always my in message the frontline to you is that you have once again continued to give it your all under very stringent, challenging and unconducive work environment. You are indeed the pillars of this nation and my prayer to you is that our God continues to bless, promote you and enlarge your territory.

Some day we shall overcome and re-write the history of our noble profession together. Continue working hard and focusing on building our nation’s human resource, while we in leadership will fearlessly continue to advocate for your welfare and justice. Together we shall move this country forward with the badge of courage and faith for a better tomorrow.
