BIG BIRTHDAY BONANZA COMPETITION WINNERS RECEIVE PRIZES

-

The big day for the Choppies Big birthday Bonanza competition winners finally arrived on Thursday when they received their cash and vehicles prizes amidst fanfare during a handover ceremony held at game city mall rooftop.

The winners for both the cash and car prizes were announced a fortnight ago following a grand finale draw conducted at Commerce Park in Gaborone. It was an unforgettable moment as 91 lucky customers each received their P15 000 cash prizes while five others who won the grand prizes drove away in their new set of wheels, Toyota Hilux bakkies.

The awards were handed over to winners in the presence of Choppies senior management, suppliers and media. A jubilant Mothusi Khutsafalo of Shoshong, who is amongst the five lucky winners of the Toyota Hilux bakkies said this was one of the happiest days of his life.

Khutsafalo said he has been feeling all sorts of emotions ahead of this day. He stated that he was lost for words to describe his feelings, as he has been very happy since the first time he learnt that he had won a car.

“I’m very happy. I don’t know how to express my happiness because I have celebrated this moment back in Shoshong after I was announced as one of the winners ahead of the handover. It’s one of the happiest days of my life,” said Khutsafalo.

Joshua Nyanga, a Chief Technical Officer at Botswana Defence Force based at Glenn Valley is one of the 91 lucky customers who went home P15 000 richer on the day. He explained that he has been a regular participant in the competition but had never won anything.

“I couldn’t believe it when I was told that I am one of the winners. I am very happy because I didn’t expect to win as I have never won before. I guess it was my lucky day,” said Nyanga.

Nyanga said he had spent not more than P200 at Choppies when he entered the competition.

Cash winners who did not provide bank accounts were handed their prizes on the spot, while for others; the money was transferred directly into their accounts.

The car winners were handed their car keys and car registration books and allowed to drive home in their new set of wheels.
