CHOPPIES AWARDS FIVE CUSTOMERS TOYOTA HILUX BAKKIES

The 18th edition of the Big Birthday Bonanza competitio­n courtesy of Botswana’s retail giant, Choppies, ended recently with five lucky customers announced as the winners of Toyota Hilux bakkies.

The competitio­n was running from October 2021 to January 7, 2022. The competitio­n’s grand finale draw was held at Commerce Park in Gaborone.

Supermarke­t officials, suppliers and the media attended the draw, which was also conducted in the presence of an auditor from Grant Thornton to ensure fairness and transparen­cy.

Friday 21, 2022 would forever remain memorable in the lives of the five winners of the vehicles, which were the grand prizes for the competitio­n.

The five winners are Maipelo Tsekoetsil­e from Mathethe Choppies, Lorato Tsele from Gaborone Choppies (Station), Bernard Mphanyane from Gaborone Choppies (West Gate mall), Neo Mazhani from Francistow­n Choppies and Mothusi Khutsafalo from Shoshong Choppies.

The winners emerged from a draw, which they entered upon purchasing selected products sold by Choppies at its different stores across the country. Due to COVID-19, the winners were announced in their absentia, but were informed that arrangemen­ts will be made as to how they could claim their prizes.

Speaking during the grand finale draw, Choppies Marketing Manager

Katlego Gaborone said this year’s com- petition gave away P4 million in total worth of prizes.

“We are gathered here to share in a momentous occasion. We have been giving away amazing prizes. Every week, we have given away P1500 worth of vouchers and P2000 worth of vouchers monthly at every store in Botswana. And this morning we were able to give away P15 000 to 91 customers,” Gaborone said.

She said the 18th edition has been a momentous occasion, made possible by the support from their suppliers. Ga- borone said Choppies would always

find a way or another to give back to its customers who have displayed loyalty and contribute­d to the growth of the retail giant.

Choppies chief executive officer Ramachandr­an Ottapathu who conducted the staff draw said the Big Birthday Bonanza Competitio­n has grown and progressed to where it is thanks to the support of their partners and suppliers.

He said the competitio­n is aimed at thanking Batswana for the loyal support they give to Choppies stores throughout the country.

“I want to recognise all who have participat­ed in the competitio­n on behalf of Choppies board and say a big thank you. The commitment from our partners has been great and could do much better this year than the previous years,” said Ottapathu.The Choppies Big Birthday Bonanza competitio­n
