The Gaborone University College of Law and Professional Studies (GUC) has started a recruitment drive for the 2023 intake in Maun. GUC was founded in 2006 and it is a BQA-registered and accredited vocational training institution specialising in Law, Education, Business, Health, Engineering, and Social Sciences disciplines. It is a privately owned college that aims to offer high-quality relevant education with the view of developing all trainees as committed responsible members of society and also those that can contribute towards the socio-economic development and global competitiveness of Botswana through the development of human capital that the global and local markets can rely on. The total number of graduates the school has produced from its first graduation ceremony held in 2008 to date is 12,580 graduates. The institution boasts seven campuses located in Broadhurst Industrial, Delta, Main Mall, BBS, Mmopane, Francistown, and Boseja Ward in Maun. Speaking from Maun where they have stalls both at the old and new malls, Kuneni Moswela, the Corporate Communications manager, said although they started the drive late they expect a good turnout. She stated that students coming to the stalls were assisted with applications and a flexi payment system. Potential 2023 students who came to make enquiries from the stalls were from Maun and surrounding areas as far as Shakawe and Nokaneng. The institution is also running a promotion which will see all GUC self-sponsored students get tablets upon completion of the first semester.
