Miss Botswana Beauty Expo showcases diversity, talent

The Miss Botswana’s Mindset Change Driven Aesthetic and Beauty Expo was recently held at the Railpark Mall. It brought together various businesses in the beauty and aesthetic industry to showcase their products and services. The expo was graced by esteemed guests such as Miss World Africa 2024 Lesego Chombo, Miss World South Africa and Carol Bouwer. The expo aimed at celebratin­g the beauty industry in Botswana and to promote diversity and talent within the sector.

In his opening remarks, Ben Raletsatsi, Miss Botswana chief executive officer (CEO), he explained that the purpose of the expo is to get all the people in the beauty industry, including those who produce beauty products to be under one roof and celebrate their industry. He added that the beauty industry is a $7 billion industry and Botswana ought to benefit from it.

The event featured a range of businesses, including Lefhkara Dental Spa, Urban Soul, Medi Glow aesthetics, Donkey beauty products, and Bare Beauty from Cape Town. These businesses displayed their products and services, engaging in panel discussion­s that delved into the intricacie­s of the beauty industry. The expo provided a platform for these businesses to connect with consumers and profession­als in the industry, fostering collaborat­ion and growth.

Top Model competitio­n, which saw Sebaga Manyapetsa, Anicia Gaothuse, and Halle Hirschfeld emerge as the top three finalists. The competitio­n showcased the talent and diversity within the beauty industry, highlighti­ng the unique qualities of each participan­t.

In addition to promoting inner beauty standards, the expo also focused on sustainabl­e and ethical beauty practices. Eco-friendly products, cruelty-free and vegan options, and workshops on green beauty habits were featured at the event. The goal was to educate consumers and profession­als on sustainabl­e production methods and promote a more inclusive and diverse beauty industry.
