JULY INFLATION BREACHES 14 PERCENT
The annual inflation rate was 14.3 percent in July, as opposed to 12.7 percent in June, registering a rise of 1.6 percentage points.
Contributing significantly to the annual inflation rate were the increasing prices for the major components in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) basket, especially Transport at 9.2 percent, Food & Non-alcoholic Beverages with 1.7 percent, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Other Fuels at 1.2 percent and Miscellaneous Goods & Services with 0.9 percent.
