BIG ZULU GETS SA HIP HOP FIRED UP

-

South African rapper, Big Zulu, found himself trending after releasing a fiery diss track called ‘150 Bars’.

In the song, the burly dreadlocked star takes aim at many of his rap peers including Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Emtee and more. Despite the lyrics suggesting otherwise, the 36-year-old ‘Donsa Nkabi’ insisted he wasn’t beefing anyone and only released the song because he heard Hip Hop was dead and wanted to prove it wasn’t. Additionally, he promoted his upcoming song featuring Nasty C and Patoranking.

An unimpressed AKA took to his social media to say, “You can’t make a diss track then big everyone up at the end. That’s not Hip Hop.”

K.O actually took to the studio to respond with ‘Omega Freestyle’ as he fired back at Big Zulu. Meanwhile, in a not so sly dig at Cassper Nyovest, someone commented “Rappers will rap. Unlike those who say ‘My father was a teacher and my mother was unemployed, I will not reply to Big Zulu because of what my humbling beginnings taught me, I am just trying to build an empire for my son’.”

Bigging up the beef track, it was pointed out, “Big Zulu made SA Hip Hop to be interesting again. K.O just responded to his diss track, now we’re waiting for others.”

SA Hip Hop has been on a downer since the rise of Amapiano; perhaps this will spark a resurgence.
