This week, we learned
of French footballer, Paul Pogba, being a victim of an extortion scheme, with his brother, Mathias Pogba, alleged to be at the centre of it.
In an official statement, the player’s legal team revealed, “I can confirm that an investigation was opened on 3 August 2022, in particular on the charge of extortion in an organized gang and attempted extortion in an organized gang.”
Apparently Mathias, along with Paul’s childhood friends, have asked for €13 million (P150 million) for discreetly protecting him over his career. Coincidentally, this information surfaces after Mathias released a video promising to ‘expose things’ about the former Man United star.
One alleged exposé is said to be Pogba allegedly using a witch doctor to perform witchcraft on France teammate, Kylian Mbappe.
Normally a favourite target for online trolls, this time the World Cup winner received much social media sympathy.
“Mathias Pogba is about to do something you should never do to a sibling. Disgusting if he actually reveals things about Paul,” blasted one comment. Another noted, “Adebayor experienced it & Osimhen is dealing with one as well. Once the family sees the flow, they believe they should be living like the person earning the money.”
It’s a sad state of affairs for the Pogbas!
