SLUMBER REIGNS IN TSABONG
Slumber Tsogwane was wide awake at the weekend, storming to victory in Tsabong to retain the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Chairman’s position.
The VP won with a healthy margin of almost 600 votes against Nonofo Molefhi. Other big winners at the congress were: Lemogang Kwape, Kavis Kario and Jagdish Shah.
While congratulatory messages poured in, other Batswana shared their thoughts on the congress results.
“It’s a looters boy’s club. No women allowed,” observed one critic.
Commenting on Satar Dada’s unopposed re-election as the party’s Treasurer - a position he has held since 1995 - someone asked, “So no one ever opposes Dada for treasury?”
Looking to the future, someone tentatively queried, “Does this mean Slumber will be our president one day?” Now that’s food for thought!
