SEFALANA LIQUOR STORE OPENS IN BLOCK 8

-

Sefalana continued its robust expansion by OFFICIALLY OPENING A NEW LIQUOR STORE IN BLOCK 8, GABORONE ON FRIDAY, 2 SEPTEMBER 2022.

The outlet brings the number of standalone Sefalana liquor stores in Botswana to 20 and comes hot on the heels of addition number 19, which opened its doors for consumers in Block 5 late last month. Speaking at Friday’s grand opening, Sefalana Country Head of Retail, Sunil Urath buttressed that the Block 8 liquor store was perfectly situated to fill a void in the area. “The place is strategically located; there is no bottle store nearby making it an ideal place for business. We see this as good potential because there are a lot of people staying in this area,” he said. To get the new shop up-and-running with a bang, Urath revealed they will be holding a special sale, with various beverages available at discounted prices. “Since it is the Grand Opening, we have put-in-place instant rewards for Sefalana Rewards card holders who are poised to get massive discounts. So it’s good prices for an opening promotion!” he declared. Located in Block 8’s popular shopping complex, the store has created full time jobs for ten people, which Urath pointed out is in line with Sefalana’s continued determination to create employment for locals.

The Country Head of Retail added that the company intend to open a further four outlets before the end of the year, with two earmarked for Mogoditshane, while Jwaneng and Tutume are in line to get one each. “When it comes to liquor in Botswana, Sefalana is big as well as Fast Moving Consumer Goods. At the moment we don’t have more of bottle stores but are predominant in the cash and carry and supermarket business. So our strategy is to open bottle stores to give customers convenience to buy in smaller units,” Urath explained.
